Leon Wieseltier and Harvey Weinstein. An Anti-Polonist Faces Accusations
14 comments:
Bieganski the Blog exists to further explore the themes of the book Bieganski the Brute Polak Stereotype, Its Role in Polish-Jewish Relations and American Popular Culture.
These themes include the false and damaging stereotype of Poles as brutes who are uniquely hateful and responsible for atrocity, and this stereotype's use in distorting WW II history and all accounts of atrocity.
This blog welcomes comments from readers that address those themes. Off-topic and anti-Semitic posts are likely to be deleted.

I didn't think I had ever heard of this (un)delightful gentleman -though clearly I must have read some quotes from him in "Bieganski" which I have on my shelf.
ReplyDeleteSo he has "dedicated himself to defaming Poles". Well, we are a safe target, as I am sure he is well aware. And presumably he has done his bit to make us so, and make sure we are on the "unter" page?
An interesting legacy that, untering others.
You say:
"What does it mean that these men — and so many others like them — held the power to literally shape America’s political narrative? What does it mean, as New York magazine’s Rebecca Traister noted on Twitter, that the story of, say, Hillary Clinton’s public career was told by these sorts of men?"
What it means is that everything that Jehovah, the God of Abraham, the true God, warns us about the present world system of things - its utter corrupt nature - is true. And he does not ask us to put it right. He will deal with it. Please please look at Daniel 2:44 for example.
He asks us to stand clear, to be "no part" of it, not to let its attitudes and warped values corrupt us.
The awful fruitage of the rebellion in Eden is becoming clearer every day. But a rescue is on the way. Truly.
I judged the Poles by their enemies. And I found it was an almost unfailing truth that their enemies were the enemies of magnanimity and manhood. If a man loved slavery, if he loved usury, if he loved terrorism and all the trampled mire of materialistic politics, I have always found that he added to these affections the passion of a hatred of Poland. She could be judged in the light of that hatred; and the judgment has proved to be right. Every action of the Poles has confirmed the sympathy and confounded the prejudice, a prejudice once unfortunately very widespread in our own Press and public opinion. – G. K. Chesterton
ReplyDeleteDid G.K Chesterton say that?!! Bless him, if so.
DeleteAnd certainly it would have been very embarrassing if this Leon Wieseltier had liked and approved of us.
Thanks for this quote
DeleteYou're welcome Dr Goska.
DeleteWow. And I don't know if he looked in the mirror ever, and saw an enemy of Poland.
Delete"And he added to these affections".
And 80-90 years later this prejudice is still there.
Hello Mrs. Knight,
DeleteThere is a book "Letters on Polish affairs" by Charles Sarolea. Chesterton wrote an introduction in that book. I just quoted few sentences.
Thanks Lukasz - I had never heard of it.
DeleteLukasz Klimek, I agree. The people who hate Polish people are the people who hate magnanmity and manhood. On Nov 11, 2017...Polish people will be marching for Christian Poland/Europe. See the YouTube video "Polish people say, WE WANT GOD/Jesus - Annual Polish march for Poland". I'm sure a lot of Low Lives and Christian-Haters will hate Poland for that.
DeleteThank you, Mr. Harris, for bringing this YouTube video to light. It is very moving, in both a religious and patriotic sense.
DeleteAs for the November 17 march, be prepared. Groups of LEWACTWO, the allegedly George-Soros funded Polish equivalent of ANTIFA, will try to disrupt the march. Be ready for them.
Blessings.
Thanks, Lukasz, for bringing the Chesterton/Sarolea book to public attention. I have just gotten it and finished reviewing it. It has excellent insights into Polish-Jewish relations.

The Times of Israel are a good paper which I have mixed feelings about.
