Wikipedia reports,
Some 25,000 Polish underground fighters, including 300 top Home Army officers, were captured by NKVD units and SMERSH operational groups in the fall of 1944. They suffered mass deportations to the gulags.
Is this accurate? If it is not accurate, what are the real numbers, and what is the source of the numbers?
Thank you in advance.
A blog reader sent in a link to a book review. I clicked on the link and immediately encountered antisemitic material. I will not post that link for that reason. It's unfortunate that the antisemitic material can be found at the link because the book the review mentions appears to be a worthy and reliable source.
