Bieganski the Blog exists to further explore the themes of the book Bieganski the Brute Polak Stereotype, Its Role in Polish-Jewish Relations and American Popular Culture.
These themes include the false and damaging stereotype of Poles as brutes who are uniquely hateful and responsible for atrocity, and this stereotype's use in distorting WW II history and all accounts of atrocity.
This blog welcomes comments from readers that address those themes. Off-topic and anti-Semitic posts are likely to be deleted.

Excellent! Great work from Jonny Daniels. This crisis is bringing out the very best in a lot of people. Hope you and your blog readers and contributors are all keeping yourselves healthy and safe.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from a socially (and geographically) distant Karski
Michal it is nice to hear from you. How are things on your side of the pond?
DeleteThe government is now beginning to take things more seriously than before, but it's still not enforcing strict measures like other European countries seem to be doing. The health service here is stretched, like everywhere else, I suppose. We can only follow medical advice and self-isolate. Everyone's looking forward to the day when we can all interact with each other again. Could be a longer haul than we expected. Makes you realize that we take a lot of things for granted. Best wishes to all.
DeleteHere is more coverage in detail of the situation in the UK, if any of your readers are interested. Singing out for now. Stay safe.

"Singing"? That should be "signing", of course. Or maybe I could be singing. Music always keeps my spirits up. Cheers.
DeleteGene Sokolowski, are you out there somewhere? Lukasz?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the article on Jonny Daniels. I had seen it earlier and found it inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI hope you’re staying safe as you navigate your way through your hectic environment. My wife and I have been quarantining ourselves at the lake house in central Virginia away from our children and grandchildren. We’re all staying connected through texting with videos and photos, Facebook, and email. I’m also keeping an eye on my 93-year-old mother in Lübeck, Germany, and my cousins and their youngsters in Biała Podlaska, Poland. So far, everyone is doing well.
Please stay safe.
Gene could you do me a favor and shoot me an email? thank you.
DeleteLukasz has sent me an email saying that he tried to post to the blog a number of times but for some reason his posts did not appear. But he wants everyone to know he is okay.
