I really do wish I could post here more, but, again, I have to earn a living and this blog is a labor of love.
Some Polish odds and ends.
On the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz described how, as a cafeteria monitor, he saved a child choking on a "Polish dog."
During the presidential debate, Kamala Harris asked the former guy to justify his pro Putin stance to the hundreds of thousands of Polish voters in Pennsylvania.
On the Seth Meyers show, Seth Meyers referenced Polish light bulb jokes. No dumb Polak jokes are not dead yet.
I am glad to see Polish Americans once again get some attention in the media. Most of the time the Polish Americans, in striking contrast to many other groups of Americans, are completely invisible. They are just part of the background.
ReplyDeleteDespite the number of times I’ve disagreed with Mr Peczkis on this forum, I’m inclined to agree with him here. I’m not sure whether the apparent ‘invisibility’ of Polish Americans is something positive or negative, but since they have now appeared in the presidential election campaign, and also since some people might be remembering the great Polish American hero Tadeusz Kosciuszko on his namesday, here’s my take on what the general might have thought about the upcoming election:

Michal nice to hear from you. And it's always good to recognize areas of agreement.
