Algemeiner: Antisemitic Images Are Flooding Polish Media

from Do Rzeczy

Alegemeiner reproduced this cartoon from a Polish publication, Najwyższy Czas

Algemeiner reports that antisemitic images are now "flooding" Polish media. Read more here

The comments section of the same Algemeiner piece reveals that Poles and Poland are also being stereotyped in equally ugly ways. Here is one comment:

"Can anyone have any doubts that Poland was absolutely complicit in the murder of 3+ million Jews during the holocaust? It's not that Poles were subjugated during the war by the Germans, but rather they actively participated in identifying Jews to be rounded up and sent to the gas chambers in Auschwitz and Majdanek, Sobibor, Treblink, etc death camps.

"Moreover, many of the population who in fact murdered Jews. This is historic fact and no amount of subterfuge by the current Polish government can ever erase this. When you step back and look at the full view, can there be any doubt that anti Semitism is very much alive and well in Poland?"

  1. Finally, Poles are taking their gloves off and making it clear that the mountains of lies about Poland will be dealt with in no uncertain terms.

    It's about time.

  2. Jan Peczkis you approve of Poles disseminating antisemitic images.

You are wrong. And so are those disseminating antisemitic images.

These fools disgrace Poles, Poland, and Polonia.

  3. Now this is exactly why we need our spiritual armour, as set out in Ephesians chapter 6.

We are being attacked - there has been a startling torrent of hatred and contempt - and the temptation is always to retaliate in kind.

But what do the Inspired Scriptures warn? And remember they are a guide from our Creator, who wants nothing but the best for us.

    Psalm 37 begins this way:

"Do not be upset because of evil men Or envious of wrongdoers. They will quickly wither like grass And shrivel like green new grass.  Trust in Jehovah and do what is good; Reside in the earth, and act with faithfulness.  Find exquisite delight in Jehovah, And he will grant you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Jehovah; Rely on him, and he will act in your behalf.   He will make your righteousness shine like daybreak, And your justice like the midday sun.   Keep silent before Jehovah And wait expectantly for him. Do not be upset by the man Who succeeds in carrying out his schemes.   Let go of anger and abandon rage; Do not become upset and turn to doing evil.  For evil men will be done away with, But those hoping in Jehovah will possess the earth.  Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, And they will not be there. But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."

Let go of anger. Abandon rage. Our Creator knows just how the injustices and cruelties of the world are going to make us feel. And He asks us to trust in Him to deal with them.

There is a rescue on the way. What else are we praying for when we ask for God's Kingdom to come and for His will to be done on the earth?

Then we can find our exquisite delight in the abundance of peace - right here on the earth. Will we trust in Jehovah with all our heart, or will we let ourselves be goaded into acting badly - into retaliating in kind?

Jehovah is already giving me peace of mind amidst all the hatred directed at me because my dear father was Polish. This is reminding me how important the door to door Kingdom preaching work is - and I hope it will help to get me out there again as soon as the snow goes - and I was feeling rather tempted not to go to the meeting tonight because of the weather. I hate to miss a meeting, but I am so terrified of falling now. Yet I know that the perfect antidote to this is a couple of hours being taught from Jehovah's loving and reassuring word.

So I hope to get there.

Jehovah's word is a beacon of light and hope shining in a very dark place. And the darker it gets, the brighter it shines, drawing more and more us - the damaged children of disobedient Adam - to Him.

This doesn't mean we can't speak up of course. I seem to have spent the whole of the last two weeks wearily pointing out that the Polish army, my father among them, fought on the Allied not the Axis Side. Which, chillingly, comes as a surprise to some.

  4. How is the first picture (the cover page of DoRzeczy) antisemitic? I do not understand this claim.

  5. The wide-spread and constant accusations of "antisemitism" is so overused that it is actually loosing its power and meaning.
DoReczy represents very balanced and professional journalism. And if you say that I also "approved disseminating antisemitic images" (as Jan), so be it.

    1. Hello Jim,

I hold DoRzeczy in high regard. It's an anti-commie, pro-american and pro-israeli newspaper.

In my opinion it's one of three best weekly newspapers in Poland alongside with "Sieci" and "Gazeta Polska".
If they write something critical about Jews, it should not be dismissed as "antisemitic".

And yes, accusations of "antisemitism" are no longer so effective as they used to be.
There is a story about a boy who cried wolf too many times. Same story here.

    1. I wasn't happy to write it either. Antisemitism is on the rise in Western Europe. Violent attack on Jews, synagogues burning, anti-israeli boycotts, demonstrations on streets. Iran will soon have nukes.

      And what are Jews doing?
They slander Poland, the most philo-semitic country in Europe. Or at least it used to be.

      And for what purpose?
So that Bibi could divert the attention of Israeli citizens from his own corruption?
So that some greedy American Jews could blackmail my country in the name of "Holocaust survivors"?

      It's insane.
The rain begins to fall, and they are setting the ark on fire.

    2. Lukasz I can't believe you are posting this conspiracy theory crap.

The new law is stupid and it is causing a very predictable series of consequences.

    3. It's no conspiracy theory. Conspiracy must be kept secret. And there are no secrets here.

Netanyahu is being investigated and questioned by the Israeli police. It's no secret. This Polish-Israeli feud is a diversion.

Israeli government was informed about this new law. All their objections were accommodated. So that whole argy-bargy was quite unexpected.

There are Jewish groups in America who demand money from Poland for properties that weren't theirs. It's no secret either.

Maybe this law is stupid, but so is Act S.447.

Personally, I don't believe in any "Jewish conspiracy". I find the very concept amusing.

    4. Mr. Klimek.

With all due respect, holding a newspaper in high regard because it’s “anti-commie,” “pro-American,” and “pro-Israeli” may raise some questions (and eyebrows). I’m not familiar with DoRzeczy, so I can’t judge it, but I’m sure that there are better standards for judging a newspaper than the ones you mentioned.

You state, “Iran will soon have nukes”. According to whom? The Israeli propaganda apparatus? “The International Atomic Energy Agency has consistently verified the ‘non-diversion’ of Iran’s nuclear resources from civilian to military use. In 2007, the National Intelligence Estimate under Bush concluded Iran was not pursuing nukes. President Obama’s Director of National Intelligence agreed with these findings in 2009… Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said unambiguously that Iran has neither been working on nuclear weapons nor shows any intention of building them.” (https://www.huffingtonpost.com/anthony-gregory/iran-war-rhetoric_b_1469132.html)

Even if Iran wanted to build nuclear weapons, it certainly has the right to do it, just as any other state. The US (a country with a history of dropping nuclear bombs on civilian populations, illegally invading other countries, overthrowing democratically-elected governments, installing brutal dictators, killing its own people--and whose unhinged president can’t be trusted to keep his penis in his pants and his fingers off of the keyboard) definitely shouldn’t decide whether Iran should have nuclear weapons or not. Israel (a terrorist, rogue, apartheid state that ethnically cleansed a million people and that imprisons almost 2 million—51% of them children—in the Gaza concentration camp [actually, it’s a “death camp”, since the conditions there are “unlivable”] and thousands of African asylum seekers in the Negev concentration camp--and whose greedy, corrupt Prime Minister can’t be trusted not to spend public funds on scented candles) shouldn’t decide whether Iran should have nuclear weapons either. Iran has not invaded anyone in 200 years and is the least belligerent of the three countries.

  7. I've read this issue of DoRzeczy It Is by no means anti-Semitic.
The second one... Oh well, its a caricature with a sad and true message. Repeat a lie of thousands times and it will become truth. Unfortunately Holocaust is being instrumentalized by the state of Israel and the Jewish communities. You're probably no documentary Defamation....

    1. Hello Hanna,

That caricature is in bad taste. Sidelocks, kippah, big nose...Author could have been more sensitive.
It reminds me one Israeli cartoon. Link below.

In Poland we don't make such cartoons by the way.

What I found disturbing in that article (other than it's lies) is that the third image was cutted. Original image is in the link below.
      http://poland.us/files/artykuly/file5a90a24cef84e.201802231822.jpg

The Algemeiner has also lied in another article. They claimed that "some far-right parties have very publicly sent delegations to the Iranian Embassy in Warsaw, as a gesture of solidarity with Tehran’s official policy of Holocaust denial".
      So such thing took place.

And if any Westerner wonders about the reasons behind new polish law- it illustrates that Poles have lost faith in the West. In your integrity, good intentions, scientific research and educational system.

    2. "Poles have lost faith in the West."

Boo hoo. Losing faith does not give one permission to behave badly.

    3. So far Poles showed a lot of restrain. It wasn't Israeli embassy in Warsaw that was vandalised.

    4. Glad to hear Warsowians are not retaliating in kind Lukasz. But what I hope is that people in Poland (and everywhere) will lose faith in human government and seek for the heavenly government, the Kingdom of God, for whose coming Jesus taught us to pray.

Already it is teaching millions worldwide - from every tribe and nation and tongue - to live in peace and to "study war no more".

Re the current fracas, if it can help to wake some of us up in the spiritual sense, then the silver lining is much much bigger than the nasty cloud.

  8. Jan Peczkis I choose not to post your most recent message declaring that there is such a thing as "Holocaust supremacism" and that that is "a form of racism."

As I've said before, I think teaching about the Holocaust is a necessary endeavor.

  9. "Can anyone have any doubts that Poland was absolutely complicit in the murder of 3+ million Jews during the holocaust? It's not that Poles were subjugated during the war by the Germans, but rather they actively participated in identifying Jews to be rounded up and sent to the gas chambers in Auschwitz and Majdanek, Sobibor, Treblink, etc death camps.”

The above comment in response to the Algemeiner piece and most comments all over the internet regarding “Polish complicity in the Jewish Holocaust” reveal that the commenters apparently are not aware that the Jewish Councils were tasked with “identifying Jews to be rounded up and sent to the gas chambers…” The Jewish Councils were first responsible for compiling the lists of victims to be sent to the labor camps (mostly poor Jews who couldn’t bribe the council members) and then to the death camps; and the Jewish police was responsible for seizing the victims and loading them onto the transport trains (Ringelblum, 2006; Adler, 2017; Arendt, 1963). According to Hannah Arendt’s estimation (based on data from Hungary and the Netherlands), 45-50 percent of Jewish victims could have saved themselves if they had been “leaderless” and had not followed the instructions of the Jewish Councils.

What exactly does it mean that “Poles were worse than Germans”? Which Poles? Which Germans? Under what circumstances? If one compares Polish moral and mental degenerates and hoodlums under the German occupation to Schindler, then, yes, one can arrive at the conclusion that Poles were worse than Germans. When the Americans conducted polls in Germany in 1946 and 1947, 50-60 percent of Germans said that National Socialism was a good idea poorly implemented. Did 50-60 percent of Poles in 1946-47 think that National Socialism was a good idea poorly implemented?

Interestingly, historian Emmanuel Ringelblum, who was imprisoned in the Warsaw ghetto, compared the Jewish police to the other police forces and came to the following conclusions, “Jewish policemen […] distinguished themselves with their fearful corruption and immorality. But they reached the height of viciousness during the resettlement. They said not a single word of protest against this revolting assignment to lead their own brothers to the slaughter… Very often, the cruelty of the Jewish police exceeded that of the Germans, Ukrainians, and Letts. They uncovered more than one hiding place, aiming to be plus catholique que le pope and to curry favor with the Occupying Power” (pp. 329-331).

Jews should study their own history. This would be the best solution to the Jewish-Polish spat.
