A New Interview with Tadeusz Kocsciuszko Re: the 2024 Presidential Election

A blog reader has kindly shared with us a link to a recent interview with Tadeusz Kosciuszko regarding the 2024 American presidential election. As befits a diplomatic man, Kosciuszko is rather cagey, but one can gather from his comments which candidate he believes is best suited to the American presidency, in light of Kosciuszko's familiarity with the Founding Fathers. I, of course, concur with Kosciuszko's position.

One can read the full interview here.

  1. What's this?

"I have noticed a curious development recently, namely that the party which calls itself ‘republican’, has today elevated someone who appears to have the instincts of a monarch, perhaps even an emperor. What happened to the egalitarian ideals of the original republican revolutionaries?"

This is ironic, and an exact inversion of the truth. It is the other party that is anti-egalitarian: It acts the monarch by deciding which group of Americans is "more equal" than other Americans (that is, which group is entitled to special considerations). Polish-Americans are dismissed as just a subset of the "privileged whites", and not entitled to the same rights as these leftwing-designated victim groups.

In addition, the original Kosciuszko is regarded as just another "dead white male", alongside George Washington, by this party.

    1. The big picture doesn’t look too promising for Poland, however, if the Republican candidate gets another bite at the White House and decides that NATO is redundant, which is likely to happen.

So much for me agreeing with Mr Peczkis.

    2. Do you REALLY believe that, in the event of a Russian attack on Poland, NATO would risk a world-incinerating nuclear war by coming to Poland's aid?

    3. Putin is not stupid. He won’t risk a world-incinerating nuclear war on the slim chance that the Alliance wouldn’t come to Poland’s aid. You seem to be arguing that NATO might as well not exist.

Since I don’t want to get into yet another argument with you, I’ll sign out.

    4. Putin not stupid? He invaded Ukraine. Sounds pretty stupid to me, but it depends upon who gets to define stupidity.

"He won’t risk a world-incinerating nuclear war on the slim chance [!] that the Alliance wouldn’t come to Poland’s aid"

Neither you nor I know that!--especially in the light of the West's many past betrayals of Poland, and of Putin's knowledge of this inescapable fact.

Yes, I support NATO, but do not attach unquestioning significance to it. Kamala Harris has no right to use the NATO bogeyman to fearmonger Polish-American voters into not voting for Trump, especially in key swing states such as Michigan and Pennsylvania, where a few thousand votes can make the difference between President Harris and President Trump.

    5. Your points aren’t making much sense to me. Harris has every right to warn Polish Americans about the probable scenario of a Trump presidency. She’s the only serious candidate in this race. Why you would favour Trump is beyond me.

    6. "Why you would favour Trump is beyond me."

      trump is a fascist. He's stupid. He's disgusting. He's a rapist. A felon.

      Some like all that.

  2. The only time NATO's article 5 was invoked was when NATO came to the defense of the UNITED STATES. Team Trump destroyers want to besmirch that honorable history and wreck history's most successful military alliance.
