We Salute the Courage of Dr. Magdalena Gudzinska-Adamczyk

I love this woman's courage.

  1. "All decent people think exactly the same thing, this is an unacceptable thing, this must never happen again. This is a disgrace," said Prime Minister Donald Tusk

There is no, zero, justification for what Grzegorz Braun did.

Anyone attempting to excuse his act or spin it is morally wrong and not a friend to Poles or Poland.

  2. I knew that you would say that. Fact is, I never justified Braun's conduct. The desecration of Jewish religious symbols is every bit as disgusting, morally wrong, and fundamentally un-Polish as is the desecration of Catholic religious symbols.

  3. The incident took place in the recent context. Several people who attacked churches in Poland were acquitted, a man who defended a church was punished. Several politicians demand secularisation of the state, eg. removal of the cross from the builng of the Sejm. The speaker Holownia announced to cancel punishment of violating religious feelings. Either the total secularization or respect for all religious symbols. The woman has allegedly kicked Braun, which was obviously illegal. The new Sejm declares to obey laws. Braun broke an another law, he misused the extinguisher (Use in areas with poor air flow, use with intent to harm someone, or intentional inhalation of fire extinguishers can produce serious toxicity and would require medical evaluation.) https://www.poison.org/articles/fire-extinguisher-safety-184

  4. Good grief.

"Context" does not excuse what Braun did.

He was kicked? He should have been subdued by any means necessary.

    1. A congressman is defended by the law. I have not created the law. 'Subduing people' without legal basis ?

    2. I believe that Hamas inflates numbers of Palestinian victims, but several European countries are very anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic. I have criticized Braun's excesses several times, but Poland is one of the less anti-Semitic nations. It is funny when the US ambassador teaches us.

  5. Jan Peczkis your comment about "Jewish supremacism inherent in certain aspects of Judaism" is offensive to me and for that reason I am not going to post it.

I've struggled really hard over the years to allow free speech in the comments section here but ... what you said is offensive to me and I don't want to handle it.

On other occasions when you've said things that offended me I felt I could post an alternative point of view.

There is no rational alternative point of view to your belief that Jews are somehow possessed of supernatural power and that Poles are helpless little babies who can't do anything for themselves and are doomed to being victimized by these so called supremacist Jews.

If you can't recognize that what Braun did was unspeakably vile there is no bringing you around with rational speech.

So, no, I do not want your arguing for "inherent" "Jewish supremacism" here today in relation to this topic.

  7. You write: "There is no rational alternative point of view to your belief that Jews are somehow possessed of supernatural power and that Poles are helpless little babies who can't do anything for themselves and are doomed to being victimized by these so called supremacist Jews."

You are again making a straw man of my position. I never said anything about Jews having "supernatural powers", much less about Poles being "helpless little babies". If anything, I believe the exact opposite. Poles must fight more energetically precisely because they are not "helpless little babies".

Rabbi Menahem Mordechai Kaplan founded Reconstructionist Judaism partly as a declared rejection of Jewish Chosenness and its confessedly implied Jewish supremacism. You can verify this for yourself by checking my reviews of Kaplan's books on my website.

    2. So God and the Vatican recognize Jews as God's chosen. Jan Peczkis does not. I will go with God and the Vatican.

  10. I don't see the connection between the link you sent in and the blog post, above. I wish you would explain whatever connection you see.

  12. Jan Peczkis I received your post alleging that Christianity is discriminated against in the Sejm. Your post is whataboutism and no I don't believe that Christians are being discriminated against. Braun's act was wrong, and spin won't make it right. I'm not going to post your message.

  13. The Brauns in any country badly need media attention. You have posted already three texts about him. Braun has allegedly 2-3% support in Poland. Any country has such uneducated, obsessed people. If Poland limits freedom of speech it is wrong. (the IPN law) If Poland does not limit freedom of speech it is wrong. (Braun) I do not support the Brauns, but the intensity of the fight against the Polish antisemitism by obsessed people like Bilewicz, Grabowski, Gross does not help to oppose the real antisemitism in Poland.
US universities have massive problems at this moment. They educate millions, they control billions USD. https://www.timesofisrael.com/us-congress-launches-investigation-of-antisemitism-at-elite-universities/ https://www.insidehighered.com/news/students/free-speech/2023/12/15/new-study-highlights-campus-antisemitism-hot-spots

Is a Christmas tree religious? No, it is not, any big store has several of them. The religious symbol in the Sejm is the cross in the chamber, so yes, Bosak is wrong.

  14. Jerzy Pankiewicz "Is a Christmas tree religious?"

    Good grief.

    Is a candle stick religious?

Come on you can do better.

  15. Jerzy Pankiewicz "US universities have massive problems at this moment."

That looks a lot like whataboutism. No one here needs you to tell us about American universities, as this blog makes clear.

So why even mention American universities in a discussion of Braun?

Looks a lot like an attempt to change the subject.
