As part of this decision they were taken advantage of by men wanting to make their fortune by using others. Only a few of these men felt some guilt for their actions.
Prejudice will always be with us and the more you blend in the less ridicule you get. Blacks and other ethnic groups can't change their skin color so have had a harder time to be less picked on by the WASPS. There will always be some target for prejudice which some groups need for their own self esteem.
Our constitution, bill of rights and laws make it harder for prejudice to flourish.
These may be very naive views but I try to think of our country as a melting pot which still allows ethnic identities to remain. How much remains is up to the group or individual. Prejudice is still a complex problem.
Teresa Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8471082069031980581.post-90471133180953795822012-10-17T14:22:18.057-04:002012-10-17T14:22:18.057-04:00Great photos Richard, - thanks - a window in time....Great photos Richard, - thanks - a window in time.Sue Knight's Bloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12597157298218651144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8471082069031980581.post-22968863568157646782012-10-17T12:55:18.169-04:002012-10-17T12:55:18.169-04:00For these photos I want to thank my sister TerI Mi...For these photos I want to thank my sister TerI Miller and Richard Miller PhD.
